  • VOID BY MARIO MANKEY

To kick off 2021, we are proud to announce the release of a new special timed edition print with Spanish artist Mario Mankey.

Mario has been capturing global attention for his structural and conceptual sculptures and site specific installation, large scale murals, and his highly regarded studio paintings. He has been on Moniker's 'Artists to watch' list for some time now and we are really pleased to be working with him.

The artwork, VOID, one of Mario's most celebrated oil paintings from 2020 will be turned into our 5th edition from Moniker. The artwork was originally produced for his solo show GOD/VOID/END. The infinity gold symbol squeezing two running dogs competing for a late non-existent trophy. The artwork depicts a metaphor about the turbocapitalism culture, unbalance, avarice, neoliberalism and ecosystem abuse.

The print will be 15 x 19 inches, and the artwork sits comfortably with a white border around it. Each print is signed, numbered by the artist and comes with a COA from Moniker Editions.

    Size: 15 x 19 inches

Medium: Printed with the finest archival printing techiniques on Hahnemuhle German etching 310GSM paper.

Edition: Signed and numbered by the artist.

    • About the Artist

" Originally from Valencia, Mankey creates works that can certainly be classified as a part of what we define as urban art, but the true value and extent of his work is hidden well beyond its surroundings and visuals. The artist himself often describes this "tucked away" meaning fueling his work as the "human heart"

      - Widewalls Magazine

" Under the name Mario Mankey, I manifest the underlying contradictions between human and primate. My work focuses on the Anthropocene, created and accelerated by our patriarchal system. I approach human behaviors I find disturbing, highlighting the eternal inconsistencies that characterize the modern individual as a result of their ambitions and limitations.

The aesthetic game displays diversion but also sarcasm. Thus, the works are addressed at a diverse but thoughtful audience, capable to comprehend the artistic dialogue proposed. The pieces adopt different formats such as installations, canvases , street murals, comic books and are subject to any new challenge that might arise, being always loyal to this biting relationship."

      - Mario Mankey
